The band offers the most
famous standards of classical jazz and bop.
Their repertoire includes the best known pieces
by L. Armstrong, D. Ellington, M.Davis,
B.Golson, C.Parker and many more. The choice of
the band to present jazz without drums gives the
group a more intimate and delicate sound without
losing the swing and allows the audience to
enjoy all the different shades of the saxophone
and the trumpet.
ANDREA
DONNINI Trumpet
Andrea gradutated at the
Conservatorium in Florence, his first
experiences with classical music and then with
Jazz. His biggest inspiration being Chet Baker .
In the 70’s & 80’s he was a part of many
well known dance groups. He has studied jazz
courses in Siena and at the Berklee School in
Perugia. Solist trumpet in the big band he also
plays intensively with various funk and jazz
groups. At the moment he is also working
together with the Negrita.
ROBERTO
BUONCOMPAGNI

Graduated in clarinette at the
Conservatorium, Roberto is now a talented &
devoted saxophone player studying at the
Chigiana Academy in Siena. He has since been
active as a solist, in orchestras and in camera
formations (Maggio Musicale, RAI di Napoli,
Quartetto A.Sax, Saxophponia Quartet). In the
70’s he played with dance groups of national
importance. He has also directed the Arezzo
Big-band and played with the Chicago Band. At
the moment, apart from teaching to Alter-Ego he
plays with the group Ciao Frank and various jazz
groups.
MARCO
PEZZOLA pianoforte
He graduated in Piano in 1990 at
the Conservatorium F.Morlacchi in Perugia.
Beside the classical studies he also devotes
himself to pop and jazz music attending the
Centro Professione Musica (CPM) in Milan where
he also studies arrangement and composition. He
attended many seminars with Franco D’Andrea,
Mark Harris, Celso Valli, Gary Burton, Kenny
Kirkland and Joe Zawinul. He attended the
clinics at the Berklee College of Music in
Boston and has participated in the film music
courses at the Chigiana Academy held by Ennio
Morricone. Expert of Computers and
Synthetizisers he has held two seminars in 1991
at the “Facultade de Artes Musicais” at the
University of Sao Paolo in Brasil. He is
momentarily teaching and playing in concerts, in
various groups from the trio to the Big Band. He
is also collaborating with Marcio Monterroyos,
Ricardo Silveira, Marco Tamburini, Paolino Della
Porta, Stefano Cocco Cantini, Ares Tavolazzi,
Fabio Morgera, Romy Camern, Blust Jumpers Bog
Band, Tammy McCann and “The grand Voices of Gloy
Choir” and Banco del Mutuo Soccorso. In 2003 he
has written pieces for the RAI short movie
“Three men without a leg”.
MAURO MAURIZI
Basso elettrico-contrabbasso
Mauro started his studies of
electric base in 1988 graduating with the
highest score at the CPM in Milano. After that
he specializes in various music genres playing
with various groups from the TRIO to the BIG
Band. He has collaborated as Sesson Man with
various national and international artists
(among them the Gipsy Kings) with who he has
played in Italy and Europe. Momentarily he is
intensively teaching music and instrument
collaborating with various schools in Tuscany
and Umbria. He has recorded many CD’s as Leader
and Session Man in Jazz, Blues, Funky and
R&B.
